R E V I E W

Dog Pound had a huge effect on me unlike most films that have come out in the past couple months. You start to really feel for the characters and their issues also everything during the movie goes along smoothly. Every actor worked their role correctly and, in my opinion, perfectly. If people just truly gave a couple seconds to be down to earth with these juniors, just for once put yourself in their own positions, many of the problems in this film could of had a much better outcome. Great story, great action, and just overall a good watch. This is a must see for everyone who has the stomach and the mind set. These actions are actually happening today and needs to be solved.. but sadly I may not see it in my years.

S I N O P S I S

Semua orang punya sisi gelap dan terang walaupun biasanya hanya salah satu dari sisi itu yang dominan. Nina (Natalie Portman punya sisi terang yang lebih dominan namun pada saat dalam keadaan terancam, sisi gelap Nina mulai muncul. Masalahnya, apakah Nina sudah siap berhadapan dengan sisi gelap yang selama ini tidak pernah ia ketahui?

Seperti juga Erica (Barbara Hershey), ibunya, Nina adalah seorang penari balet yang berbakat. Seluruh hidup Nina didedikasikan pada tari balet dan ia hampir tak punya waktu untuk melakukan aktivitas lain. Saat Thomas Leroy (Vincent Cassel), sutradara pementasan tari balet, memutuskan untuk mencari bakat baru untuk pementasan Swan Lake, Nina yang terpilih.

Sayangnya, di saat yang sama Nina juga menghadapi kompetisi dari seorang penari bernama Lily (Mila Kunis) yang juga punya peluang menjadi karakter utama dalam Swan Lake. Tokoh utama Swan Lake harus mampu memerankan karakter yang lugu dan anggun namun sekaligus sensual. Nina mampu memerankan karakter yang lugu tapi saat harus tampil sensual, Lily sepertinya lebih pas. Karena tak ingin kesempatan ini diambil oleh Lily, Nina pun berusaha dengan segala cara untuk menggali sisi gelap dirinya yang tak pernah tersentuh.

Celakanya saat sisi gelap itu mulai muncul, Nina juga mulai menghadapi kesulitan mengendalikan sisi gelap ini.
